coin purse

So to update from this weekend, i sat down finished the quilt had a melt down, composed myself and moved on. This is the coin purse/makeup bag for one of my girls teachers, that my daughter did a little embroidery on. Fairly easy, taking about 45 min. But made it more complicated adding stuff i shouldnt have….

hmmm (previously posted on dec. 12th)

Before i get ahead of myself, last night my satisfaction, happiness and all that joy i was feeling was washed away in my washing machine, along with all the color on my beautiful quilt. I had not immediatly noticed but once i pulled it from the dryer it was apparent something was dulled. So after the room stopped spinning and the nausea went away, i was able to tell my husband with a nervous laugh…..and such a blessed man says so simply….well just re-print and then stitch it over the faded ones! Ahhhh like bells from heaven my brain could not process far enough to get to that idea, it pretty much stopped at ” oh no 2 months worth of work i cant give a gift like this”….. needless to say i slept last night with a game plan…. But until then got to work on the gifts for my kids teachers at school……

glasses case

so not in any real order, since i am currently transferring pics from another blog, but this was done on Sunday for one of my girls teachers. and it was a bit harder since he is a man you cant whip up a coin purse or usual stuff...so i was super proud when my daughter embroidered his initials on the front of it, seeing as she wanted it to be uber reversible :)
so i took a picture of the glasses case and fabric used on the inside, very Andy Warhol-Esq...

Yaaaa im done! Im actually done! I sat done this morning knowing i have alot to do and about 11 am started, its now 8 and have finished my first quilt! (Of course having stopped for lunch, dinner, and all the mom, mom, mom, mom, that would have interupted a usual day) I know have the daunting task to wash and dry it 3 times to get that “old” feeling i want it to have…. Besides its the best time to fix flaws and cut loose ends :) Im very happy, now the next nerve racking thing….. i hope they like it :/

Ok so im a bit distacted sue me :)

Hmmm as seeing the school year is coming to an end for my children, they have been pretty insistant in making their teachers “handmade gifts” before christmas vacation. So we are planning on doing little make-up/pencil bag….and the male teacher (an avid glasses wearer) a glasses case, with an andy warholish material… super excited! Hope its done today :)

cowl

So far this is what has been finished with the cowl….its about 30 inches and final size is 60 inches…its worked like a blanket using a G hook and mostly a v-stitch. When reached desired length i then have to twist it and using a tapestry needle sew the end shut…. hoping to come out with a pretty cool hooded cowl….

The problem with trying to stay focused….i have really been wanting to make my own maryjanes… Just found this site that has a cute pattern, and i have wonderful furry floral material…. What to do what to do?
